Procurement Specialist

If you have  PHARMACEUTICAL EXPERIENCE, we are seeking an individual to fill the role of Procurement Specialist at our site in Burnaby, Bc.  Evonik Industries, its Burnaby, B.C. site, specializes in parenteral formulation development and manufacturing process design and implementation at small, intermediate, and large/commercial scales. This enables manufacturing of complex lipid-based formulations of therapeutic agents for preclinical and clinical testing in its state-of-the-art R&D and manufacturing facilities and transfer of drug product manufacturing to commercial facilities. Core analytical methods include HPLC/UPLC, physicochemical characterization assays such as vesicle size, zeta potential, osmolality and separation techniques such as size exclusion and centrifugal filtration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reviewing purchase requisitions form various departments to ensure compliance with procurement processes. Issuing purchase order, forwarding to supplier, and placing applicable order. Working with SAP requisition issuing where applicable.
• Communicating order details to suppliers. Following-up on existing orders and providing status updates to requestors as needed.
• Maintaining good relationships with major suppliers. Identifying new or alternative sources of suppliers. Negotiating the terms and pricing, and other relevant terms of order.
• Resolving order discrepancies and where required, arranging for return of goods.
• Maintaining good record keeping practices for purchase documents.
• Assisting Accounting and Operations staffs with order reconciliation and cost analysis, as needed.
• Carrying out duties associated with materials managing, maintaining inventory levels, documenting department transactions, etc.
