POSITION: Surveillance & General Private Investigators - Unrestricted


AREA OF COVERAGE: British Columbia wide which includes the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, Okanagan, Thompson/Nicola, Kootenays, and Vancouver Island  

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: Valid Unrestricted BC Private Investigators license, clean driving abstract, no criminal record, valid BCDL, proof of licensed and insured vehicle

EDUCATION: Investigator training/course, criminology, legal background or extensive work experience in the security industry that is transferrable

EXPERIENCE: 3 years minimum success in mobile and foot surveillance for insurance claims and corporate clientele. 3 years general investigative experience, interviewing, wage loss, fraud/exagerrated claims and/or research based general investigations. 

General Investigators Overview: You would be expected to conduct discreet inquiries for a diverse client base including clients from the legal profession, corporate world and insurance companies. You must possess excellent observational, organizational and communication skills, coupled with strong analytical skills, curiosity, patience, perseverance, integrity, honesty, skepticism and self-confidence. Computer skills, working knowledge of the law and the ability to work both independently and as a team member, should round out your abilities. The position requires that an individual be organized, logical and adapt to a variety of situations with little or no notice. In this position, it is anticipated that you will be conducting cyber research utilizing various databases, and analyzing the results to further the investigation, such as surveillance and general investigative inquiries. You should be comfortable with interviewing, detailed note-taking, and the ability to make discreet inquiries. You may be asked to serve legal process, obtain identifying photographs, assist with surveillance or field investigations, interview and obtain statements, and the like. You will be familiar with working in civil litigation, insurance, possiibly adjusting, and/or bodily injury related claims. Given the foregoing, you should, at minimum be able to type 50wpm and be your own administrative assistant.

  • Able to travel across the Province and, at times, out of province
