Job Summary

Your policy and analytical skills will be valued in this important role

Context: The Forest Landscape Planning Branch is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the new Forest Landscape Plan (FLP) across the province and for developing policy and guidance for the new FLP framework and program.

The Role: The Senior Policy Analyst will lead the research, analysis, development, and implementation of strategic policies and legislation, offering professional guidance and overseeing the creation of various policy products in support of the new Forest Landscape Planning framework. Join a dynamic team of professionals dedicated to sustainable resource management.

Job Requirements:
  • Master's degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or a field related to the program area and 2 years of related experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or a field related to the program area and 3 years of related experience;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related experience includes the following:
  • Experience in the development of legislation, regulation, and policy.
  • Experience conducting analysis to inform legislation, regulation, and policy directions.
  • Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a wide variety of communication materials/documents/content such as policy guidance, briefing notes/cabinet submissions and giving oral presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in planning and coordinating complex projects/assignments.

Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:
  • Experience in policy development for natural resource management in a government or corporate setting.
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with First Nations, as well as stakeholders (such as clients, NGO's, interest groups or federal, provincial or local government).

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
