We are an established, growing Heavy Industrial General Contractor with operations throughout Canada, we self-perform our work as a Building Trades employer.

We are currently seeking to hire a Piping & Pipeline Project Coordinator, in this position you will assist the Project Manager/s and Superintendent/s, where applicable, in the day-to-day duties of successful project administration. As an integral member of our team, you will help to plan, organize and direct the activities of various construction projects under the direction of the Project Manager/s.

  • Assist the Project Manager/s and Superintendent/s, where applicable, in the day-to-day duties of project administration
  • Assist with preparation and execution of overall detailed work plans and schedules
  • Working closely under the guidance and direction of the Project Manager/s and Superintendent/s to learn our companies systems and methods
  • Assist in plan and specification analysis in order to provide clear trackable and coordinated interpretations of the design/drawings for construction
  • Research and recommend solutions to design document problems, including conflicts, interferences and errors/omissions
  • Provide value-added input in pre-construction phases
  • Preparing and managing detailed budgets and schedules
  • Act as liaison with subcontractors and suppliers in expediting drawings and related information
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs (RFI, Vendor/Subcontractor, Purchase Orders, Owner, etc…, track responses and advise the Project Manager/s and Superintendent/s of the status of RFIs
  • Maintain and update Construction and Shop Drawing Logs, review Shop Drawings and submittals
  • Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQ’s), obtain quotations and assist with detailed bid analysis and award recommendations
  • Coordinate submittals and procure all close-out documents including warranties and Operating and Maintenance Manuals in support of project close-out
  • Assist with the research and preparation of field change requests to resolve design issues
  • Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work as required
  • Complete quantity take-offs and estimating
  • Understand and perform document control functions in accordance with companies policy and procedures, including tracking and creating RFIs, transmitting and tracking of submittals, compose agreements and maintain project expediting list
  • Attend project coordination and Owner/Contractor/Engineer meetings as requested, or required
  • Prepare and distribute accurate and detailed meeting minutes in a timely manner
  • Coordinate periodic job related photographs for records
  • Provide expertise to site team to avoid/resolve potential problems
  • Attend and contribute to site and project technical meetings as necessary
  • Monitor field work, including contract work, to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, specifications and codes
  • Participate in the continuous updating and accurate generation of project as-built documents
  • Provide Supervisory responsibilities at the discretion of the Project Manager/s
  • Provide other technical support as required
  • Maintain project awareness in order to keep Project Manager/s and others informed about status and potential project issues
  • May perform other related duties as assigned


  • 5-6 year’s minimum recent, related work experience as a Project Coordinator in Industrial Construction
  • Completion of post-secondary education with a related Construction diploma, degree or trade certificates
  • Knowledgeable in reading various disciplines of construction drawings, such as: P&ID's, Single Line Diagrams, Orthographic and Isometric drawings, Civil and Structural drawings, etc…
  • Ability to read and interpret contract specifications and other construction documents
  • A working knowledge of various industrial construction techniques and practices
  • Experience with large, multi-discipline Industrial Construction projects
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Project Management processes including: Tendering, Scheduling, RFI’s, RFQ’s, CO’s, Close-Out, etc…
  • Demonstrate success in completion of Industrial Construction projects ($10-$30 million project value)
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills and be able to effectively prioritize work load, multi-task, organize and work both independently and as a Team player to achieve goals in a high-pressure environment
  • Must be adept at problem solving and dedicated to achieving goals
  • Must work well under pressure and must always meet deadlines as project demands increase
  • Must be proficient in common PC software, including experience with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, etc...)
  • Strong communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are a requirement
  • Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license with a clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Must be able to travel and work out of town for short duration assignments, as required
  • Read, write and speak fluent English

This is a Fulltime position
