Physician, Maternal Fetal Medicine 6 Months Locum with possibility of extension (up to 1.0 FTE)

The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine/Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is seeking a Physician (Perinatologist/Maternal Fetal Medicine) for a six-month locum position, up to 1.0FTE. You will report to the Division Head for all clinical and academic responsibilities and to the Director, Dept of Obstetrics and Gynaecology for all administrative matters while providing subspecialty clinical care in the area of high risk pregnancy applying current research evidence and best practice standards. Participation in clinical hospital related activities within the medical programs, education and research in partnership with the
University of British Columbia (UBC) is expected. The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at BCW provides clinical leadership and care in one of the largest maternity facilities in Canada.
You will participate in the recognized inpatient and outpatient care activities including on call which includes labor and delivery services. You will also participate in educational programs in collaboration with UBC for undergraduate medical student teaching, post-graduate resident teaching and subspecialty fellowship teaching. In addition, continuing medical education for medical and other health care professionals would be expected. Participating in clinical research activities and projects would also be included.
As the successful applicant for this position, you will have subspecialty training in Maternal Fetal Medicine and be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) and be eligible for licensure to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
The arrangement will take the form of a clinical service contract. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience in accordance with the published APP ranges and the Division's internal compensation grid.
