Our client is looking for a People & Culture Manager for their BC Operations in South Surrey, BC. Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, you will be providing proactive HR business services covering all business areas within the Lower Mainland. You will also act as the "go to person" for employees and manager and as the point of contact for all HR matters with regards to your client groups. The People & Culture Manager will provide the best Human Resources support to the business and employees and will work closely with other HR team members and functions to look for continuous improvement opportunities throughout the business.

The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and experience providing leadership and consultation to different levels of Management on all matters related to HR. This role is for a HR professional who has a history of success in developing HR solutions and business partnering at all levels of the organization.

Main Duties

  • Develop and drive performance management programs and work with managers to effectively manage individual performance
  • Oversee all recruitment activity for business groups, including working with external vendors
  • Participate in the selection of candidates at all levels of the organization
  • Support employees to address concerns and to facilitate discussions as required
  • Provide guidance to managers on applying company policies and procedures, ensuring they are applied fairly
  • Ensure effective communication of Company-wide and local initiatives and decisions
  • Research and provide management with recommendations on compensation including salary, benefits, commissions and bonuses
  • Improve and manage the on-going delivery of HR owned & delivered training
  • Champion and promote the use of performance management tools such as scorecards, talent audits and performance reviews
  • Manage talent audit and succession planning workshops across the region; provide coaching and support to appraisers and deliver refresher training to managers as required
  • Manage new hire on boarding program with the HR Administrator
  • Act as brand ambassador at external networking events

  • Requirements

  • At least 5+ years' experience as an HR Manager/ Business Partner in a high-paced environment
  • The ability to influence and partner with management at the executive level
  • The ability to analyze business goals and implement change as a result
  • Management of volume recruitment activities across all functions
  • Coaching and supporting managers during times of organizational change
  • Understanding of learning and development models and strategies
  • Experience delivering training
  • Ability to (both verbally and written) convey information clearly, concisely and logically
  • Natural relationship builder
  • Fostering a positive work culture
  • Experience working on range of different activities at one time with the ability to prioritize
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of business strategy
  • Ability to handle internal and external customer contacts with tact, diplomacy and courtesy
  • Knowledge of BC Employment Standards and Labour Laws
