Payroll & Benefits Coordinator

Our client is a very successful, stable, and well-established Canadian company that is growing extremely quickly. Our client was established decades ago and has evolved to become one of the largest in their industry in Canada. The company has been growing by leaps and bounds.  Many of their employees have been with the company for 10 years or more, which speaks volumes about the organization’s values and commitment to their people and their customers. In the last couple years the organization has undertaken major business and digital transformations. The company has been hiring very impressive leadership, and it’s a very well-respected and well-managed business in a backbone industry that is relatively recession-proof (for example, no downsizing has occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic). 

What- the Role: 

Our client is looking to hire a new Payroll & Benefits Coordinator. Reporting into the fantastic Director, HR Operations, the Coordinator will be a back-up to a Benefits Specialist and will also have their own payroll portfolio to process. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their work and who plans on developing their career in human resources, payroll, and/or benefits. The company has recently implemented Ceridian Dayforce as their new HRIS, and the Payroll & Benefits team is optimizing their use of this sophisticated system.  
The new Coordinator will work alongside HR colleagues in HR projects & operations, learning & development, HRIS analysis, etc., and will also collaborate with people in departments outside of HR. Because the company has been growing exponentially across Canada, there is a lot of interesting project work to contribute to with the goal of streamlining the company’s HR, payroll, and benefits administration processes.

Who- the Candidate: 

We are looking for an up & coming HR professional with 1 to 3 years’ relevant and recent experience in payroll and/or benefits. Relevant post-secondary education in human resources, business, accounting, or another related discipline is highly preferred. Experience using Ceridian Dayforce and/or ADP software is an asset; otherwise, must be systems savvy and willing to learn Ceridian Dayforce quickly. 
In addition to the relevant work experience and education, we are seeking individuals who are down-to-earth, confident yet humble, knowledgeable, helpful, and curious. Great communication and problem-solving skills are crucial, as is a self-motivated work style and a team-player attitude.  

How Much: 

Competitive base salary commensurate with the hired individual’s experience and education, plus benefits, an RRSP match, etc. Please discuss further with Swim. 

Where: 

Greater Vancouver. Currently most employees of this company are working from home due to Covid-19 physical distancing.
