We are working on behalf of our client, a reputable real estate firm, in order to find a self-directed and detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join their dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional looking to participate in a real estate environment while utilizing a background in payroll administration. The ideal candidate for this role will bring a strong knowledge on benefits administration and the ability to maintain positive relationships with internal and external parties.

Location: Vancouver, BC

Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly/bi-weekly/semi-monthly payroll for salaried and hourly employees; you will take ownership of this process
  • Participate in benefits administration, including WCB audits
  • Process all employee contributions, manual cheques, ROEs and taxable benefits as required
  • Coordinate all payroll activities to ensure deadlines are met
  • Create employee payroll profiles when new hires are made
  • Handle year-end processing, including T4 preparation and annual government reporting requirements
  • Maintain an effective filing system and ensure confidentiality of all employee information
  • Liaise regularly with external parties including benefit providers and audit teams
  • Assist management with all payroll and benefits as required

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in a payroll position
  • Previous experience/working knowledge on benefits administration is a strong asset
  • Knowledge on WCB Audits
  • Post-secondary diploma in business or finance
  • Working towards, or intention to pursue PCP certificate is an asset
  • Personable and dynamic personality
  • Working knowledge of Timberline or Ceridian
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to exercise discretion with confidential matters
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and Canadian employment standards
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
