Experienced Payroll Administrator required in Chemainus for a corporate environment.
• Preference will be given to those with union payroll experience.
• Ability to respond to inquiries regarding payroll, deductions and benefits, as well as reporting support.
• Excellent interpersonal skills required while working with coworkers and outside agencies to ensure all goals are met on time.
• Confidentiality is of the utmost importance in this position.
Prepare and enter journal entries.
Reconcile payroll sub-ledgers to the general ledger
Remitting payroll taxes, government reporting, benefit reporting and union reporting
Ensure compliance with current government regulations
Ensure compliance in accordance with Union Agreements
Prepare and submit electronic ROE’s.
Onboarding new staff
Maintaining employee records
Experience with Daybreak and/or Adaigo.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy critical.
Ability to meet pre-established deadlines.
Ability to manage multi-functional tasks.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
Ability to interact with all levels of the company.
Preference will be given to those with an accreditation from the Canadian Payroll Association as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
