We are seeking a Payroll Administrator to fill a part-time opening with a fantastic Richmond-based not-for-profit that champions community inclusion. Operating for almost 40 years, this organization strongly believes in grassroots advocacy, deep connections and kindness, and they are looking for a candidate who shares those values.

This position supports a variety of payroll functions and will assist with other HR duties including benefits administration and maintaining employee data in the HRIS system. This requires at least 2 years of full-cycle payroll experience and a strong understanding of Canadian HR and payroll-related provincial employment standards.  

This role is 25 hours per week - these can be worked over 3 or 4 days, Monday to Friday. After 3 months of employment, this will transition to a hybrid model (1-2 days remote per week), and the office is located in a very transit-friendly area with on-site parking.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and process full-cycle bi-weekly payroll
  • Maintain and update employee payroll and benefits data in payroll and HRIS systems
  • Prepare various payroll reports
  • Reconcile year-end payroll
  • Act as point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries
  • Process new hires and terminations
  • Other payroll and HR related duties as needed

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of full-cycle payroll experience including experience with bank reconciliations and benefits
  • Experience processing payroll for union hourly and interprovincial employees required  
  • Certificate or diploma in payroll, accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of Canadian HR and payroll provincial employment standards
  • Technically adept and proficient with HRIS and payroll systems
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proof of vaccinations required
