SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Coordinator, Transitions Programs, the Orientation & Transitions Student Assistant will work on short-term projects and assist with general office tasks related to Orientation and Transitions.

PRINICIPAL DUTIES:
  • Assisting with the promotion and coordination of Orientation events and volunteer opportunities
  • Assisting with the development and distribution of marketing materials
  • Representing the Orientation Team on social media and at campus-wide events such as Open House and Welcome Week
  • Soliciting, collecting, and evaluating event feedback
  • Other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be enrolled in a certificate, diploma, or degree program at KPU
  • Positive attitude, reliable, and flexible with hours
  • Marketing and/or event experience an asset
  • Organized and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work unsupervised and amongst a team
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience using various forms of social media an asset
  • Ability to travel between campuses.

Salary Information

Student Assistants are paid as per the following:
  • Less than one year of post-secondary (less than 30 credits) - BC Minimum Wage
  • One year of post-secondary (30-60 credits) - BC Minimum Wage plus 8%
  • With a post-secondary diploma or degree - BC Minimum Wage plus 21%
