Position Highlights

We hire great people for outstanding jobs. We are looking for an Operating Room Booking Clerk at Surrey Memorial Hospital. We need your help to expand the ability to deliver prompt and professional service.

Bring your resourcefulness and effective problem solving skills to a role where you can really make a difference. In this dynamic role you will provide support to the Patient Care Coordinator.

Your specific duties will include:
    •Review booking forms for completeness, such as surgery to be performed, lab work, pre-admissions tests, special equipment, surgical assists, and computer documentation as per established policies and procedures. •Assist with the preparation of the daily and weekly O.R. slates using computerized scheduling system by gathering patient information such as patient name, type of surgery, attending physician. •Book services with medical staff and various departments for procedures required during the surgery. •Input patient information into computer and maintain current waiting list for surgical procedures. •Assist with the monitoring of surgical cancellations and reschedules according to established policies and procedures. •Assist in maintaining current records for physician's vacation and on-call schedules. •Maintain filing system by performing duties such as indexing, labeling and filing materials.

    •Completion of Grade 12 •Two (2) years recent, related clerical experience •Knowledge of medical terminology •Ability to type 45 WPM

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.
