We are looking for leading edge software developers that want to have an impact on next-generation technologies and enable our business goals. In this role you will be create new approaches on how to support our customers and services, reinventing the traditional approach of service provisioning and assurance. Upon having successfully implemented and proven Management and Orchestration (MANO) solutions, you will help lead the holistic solution back into the organization.

As a member of this DevOps team, you will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions providing automated provisioning, recovery and elasticity needed for MANO in an Openstack environment.

The TELUS Technology Strategy - Cloud Enablement team is at the forefront of virtualization technologies. With software defined infrastructure, network function virtualization (NFV) and orchestration we are providing foundational technologies and support across all TELUS services. This team provides a fast paced, dynamic environment, keeping you at the edge of this emerging technology. Reporting into the Manager of Network Function Virtualization you'll be joining a nationally distributed team working towards "making virtual... reality".

Responsibilities:
    •Design and implement Management and Orchestration (MANO) to drive and support evolution of TELUS' NFV infrastructure, tenants and services
    •This includes integration of the virtual infrastructure manager (VIM), virtual network function managers (VNFMs) and NFV Orchestration (NFVO)
    •Collaborate with Technology Architects to determine MANO solutions
    •Drive integration with OSS/BSS to support MANO architecture, service catalog, fault management, capacity management, performance management, authentication and security
    •Execute on technical roadmaps for infrastructure & services
    •Design and develop enhanced software for the monitoring and analysis of distributed network infrastructure at scale, including black box and white box network measurement and monitoring, device and network dashboards
    •Build vendor neutral device abstraction layers supporting automated access to devices in a heterogeneous network
    •Work with cross-functional teams (OSS, NFVI, SDN/NFV tenants) to drive delivery and adoption of MANO
    •Coach and mentor junior team members


Qualifications:


Required Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
    •Deep level of software development and coding expertise in OpenStack (Ansible, Puppet and Chef), Pearl, Python, Bash and JavaScript
    •Working knowledge of software virtualization (OpenStack, VMware, KVM, libvirt), NFV & YANG Model as well as and Git/Docker
    •Experience with Network Element protocols (TL1, CLI, SNMP, NetConf), network management systems,
    •Proven experience delivering significant feature content in large, complex software platforms
    •Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with capability to deliver effective solutions to core and cross-functional teams
    •Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills to drive software development solutions
    •Excellent troubleshooting skills, with strong ability to proactively identify and correct defects
    •Strong working knowledge of REST API
    •Familiar with networking and security functions related to virtualization of software & services
    •Experience in Agile development methodologies and tools
    •Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
    •Minimum 7 years of IT software development experience in a large complex environment
