Operations Manager, Network Operations Centre
This is a newly created role for a growing, private company that offers managed hosting, private cloud, infrastructure as a service and full-service software development services.
Reporting to the Director, Operations, you will manage a team of ten system administrators and lead them in a new initiative to implement new processes and policies. This company is gaining new customers to add to their current roster of international name brands. They are also offering more complex solutions and they want to build the NOC to meet demand. You will be collaborating across the organization to lead this evolution of the operations team.
You are an Operations Manager (or a Lead ready for the next step) with a strong technical background and experience with LAMP stacks and VMWare. This client has 500+ managed LAMP servers and about 20 VMWare clusters so you will need to have a track record in a similar sized or larger environment. More importantly, you love continuous improvement roles and you have the interpersonal skills to support your team through change as well as ensure other teams are being supported and communicated with to ease the transition to a more structured environment.
While you continue to build your career, you will be working in a company that provides challenge and enterprise work while also enabling you to enjoy your personal life. Our client is a profitable, private company that takes pride in its work-life balance culture: flex start and end times, 8 hour work day includes an hour for lunch, overtime is very rare.
What you need to have:
• Experience leading Network Operations team in a managed service or ISP environment
• A strong technical background in LAMP stacks and VMWare
• Enterprise sized Network Operations Center experience (i.e. 500+ servers)
• A track record of improving processes and policies to accommodate an environment that is expanding
• A genuine interest in working with others and collaborating to provide the best solution
Please note: Candidates need to be authorized to work in Canada and available for interviews in Vancouver
