The successful candidate for Music Professor will teach undergraduate courses in keyboarding, musicianship, music business, and music history courses as well as coaching small ensembles and teaching private lessons in jazz. The Music Professor will also engage in a broad range of institutional and professional service as well as maintain a public profile in jazz-related performance and will be expected to perform with the faculty in master classes and the concerts with the visiting artists. Other courses may be assigned depending upon the successful candidate's secondary expertise.

  • MUSC 103/104 Basic Musicianship I and II
  • MUSC 143/144, 243/244 Keyboard Musicianship I-IV
  • Music Producers: The Soundmakers of Generations
  • Career Development I

The successful candidate will hold a minimum of Masters’ in Music with a successful performance record. A combination of a Bachelors’ degree plus significant professional experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree. Additional requirements include:

  • demonstrated success in teaching piano, keyboarding, musicianship, music business, and music history at the post-secondary level
  • coaching and private teaching experience in jazz performance.
