Job Description
Express Employment Professionals - Surrey/Langley's client located in the Gloucester area of north Langley (264st-52 ave area) who are a leader in the manufacturing and distribution of Industrial Flooring/Grating and Expanded Metal Products in North America. They are seeking an energetic dependable Metal Shop Labourer early in their career to join their plank production lines. This is a Safe work place as they keep things clean and care about their workers safety.
The successful candidate: Will be willing to learn/know how fabricate and manufacture all type of items including Strapped Steel walkway, Bar Grating etc.. Training will be provided for their specific product. they will also be cross-trained to use a large break press/shear (as a team) to prep product for welding, shipping or stock. Will be someone who wants to continuously learn and grow with the company. machines and tools. While the Ad says a bottom pay rate, that is for someone early on in their career... willing to pay for the right person, with the right attitude and long term goals.
The shop: consists of 10 other workers who are mostly long term, for a small business feel; while being part of a large corporation with room for growth. There is very much opportunity for overtime. This is an ideal opportunity for Forklift Operator looking to get into the steel industry and gain manufacturing experience. You will learn new things every day and be part of a team.
Notes:
-Reliable transportation required (No bus route)
-Working hours are
-Must be able to read a tape measure****** to 16th of an inch. as well as learning to use other QC tools like squares, and MFG tools like grinders/saws.
You need your own high ankle steel-toes.
Other -PPE supplied by the workplace,
This is a noisy workplace.
Pay is $22/ hour plus 4% Vacation Pay

- 7-2:40 Monday - Friday. (Lunch is paid, and you leave 20 minutes early in lieu of other breaks) that is paid as an 8 hour day.
- 2pm-11:30pm Mon- Thursday= 4 shifts at 10 hr
-Must be able to read a tape measure****** to 16th of an inch. as well as learning to use other QC tools like squares, and MFG tools like grinders/saws.
