TheMerchandise Operations & Analytics Manager is an integral member of the Market Insights Team within the Brand department. As the Merchandise Operations & Analytics Manager, your primary role is to concept, create, develop, and refine the reports to drive merchandising strategy and decision making. You will provide tangible, and timely insights to the business, both at the Regional and Global level. As such, you will be successful in working cross functionally to deliver the right product, at the right time to the North America Market. You will be an integral part of the Go-To-Market process, delivering presentations, and analysis that drives insights and add value. This position will partner with Product, Retail, eCommerce, Brand and the IT teams to drive change management throughout the company to maximize sales in all channels with a view of global Merchandising strategies and an understanding of market trends and competitive landscape.

The Merchandise Operations & Analytics Manager has a strong aptitude towards pulling insights from data and telling a compelling story with those insights. The work you provide will measure product and category performance against business objectives, help identify growth/revenue opportunities and inform the business on how to better serve our customers.

Reporting to the Senior Market Strategy Manager, you undertake the following RESPONSIBILITIES:

Insights & Strategy

  • Provide market and industry insights to competitive indexing and trends for product categories
  • Creates deep dive analysis to study key category areas and trends
  • Measure the impact of a variety of merchandise or marketing initiatives, summarize results and advise on strategies to improve performance
  • Develop and execute a short- and long-term strategy informed by consumer insights, industry trends and competitive insights
  • Develop an understanding of retail and eCommerce KPIs and provide targeted merchandising strategies that will drive store results
  • Manage regular communication of reporting and initiative results to Brand leadership team
  • Run product/category analyses to identify and recommend innovative options to drive business strategy
  • Work with functional teams and channel leaders to creating robust action plans toward improving product category performance.

Pricing Strategy and Analytics

  • Assist with development and oversee implementation of strategic pricing initiatives and marketing strategies designed to grow gross profit, merchandise income, and net sales income
  • Utilize analytical and quantitative tools and methods, such as statistical modelling and forecasting, to guide decision making
  • Develop pricing strategies for new products and review pricing models for existing categories/product ranges
  • Evaluate effectiveness of pricing methods and rules, identify opportunities, and make recommendations for competitive pricing
  • Provide guidance and expertise on store/SKU elasticity as it relates to future price changes
  • Track key business metrics to continually evaluate and refine pricing strategies
  • Provide fact-based guidance to leadership teams in selecting pricing strategies that result in increased sales/profit/market share
  • Manage the analytics around pricing activities for permanent price changes and promotion events
  • Monitor competitor prices across and provide competitive review with recommendations quarterly

Product and Category Performance

  • Conduct deep dives on category performance and market to make recommendations on test to run and actions to roll out
  • Develop deep understanding of category financial levers including sales, promotions and profitability as input to pricing strategy
  • Contribute to, participates in, and supports continuous improvements and advancement efforts for merchandising programs
  • Support the execution of merchandising and/or purchasing strategies
  • Conduct reviews to validate the category performance on a quarterly (or as needed) basis
  • Provide support to region sales leaders with analysis and insights that help support the business strategic initiatives/goals.
  • Provide feedback to share regional consumer analytics and competitor trends to global product inventors for new products, upcoming product launches and/or market growth opportunities
  • Collaborates with other Retail Products departments to execute merchandising strategies that are aligned with company goals


You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience in retail procurement/purchasing, merchandising, vendor relations, or retail marketing
  • Experience leading merchandising operations/analytics with multi-million-dollar product lines
  • Outstanding analytical and quantitative/qualitative skills
  • Results oriented data-driven decision maker
  • Entrepreneurial initiative, you will relentlessly work towards outcomes that delight our community
  • Outstanding Excel skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with various internal teams (product, marketing, retail, eCommerce)
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously to deadlines
  • You must be comfortable with uncertainty and incremental change
  • Appropriate diplomatic skills to work cross-functionally and be a coalition builder who can easily defend positions from a data perspective
  • Willing to travel up to 20% of the time for business purposes

Preferred:

  • BS/BA degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics or similar
  • Experience working with retail global markets
  • Knowledgeable about industry trends and global consumer behaviours
