The Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) is the largest, most inclusive, and most fully representative regional construction association in BC. Our 750 members include general contractors, trade contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, and professional service providers active in the ICI and multifamily residential construction industry in the Lower Mainland, from Pemberton to Hope. About the Opportunity

We are currently looking for a full-time Membership Development Representative, to join our team in Vancouver, BC.

Reporting to the President, the Membership Development Representative will be responsible for generating leads, qualifying prospects, and increasing membership for long-term retention. 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting outside/field business development
  • Driving membership growth for long-term retention
    Building VRCA’s presence across the Lower Mainland
  • Actively listening and seeking to understand a prospect’s business purpose and needs
  • Educating the benefits and value of VRCA programs and service to prospects
  • Developing key metrics to measure membership conversion, growth, and retention
  • Scheduling client meetings to maximize efficiency and productivity
  • Consistently balancing prospecting and lead generation, with business development meetings and conversion for long-term retention
  • Meticulously tracking activities and results for regular reporting
  • Maintaining an understanding of market forces and trends
About You

To qualify, you will need at least 3 years of previous experience in outside/field sales, client-facing customer service, or any related membership-driven organization role.  A post-secondary education in business, marketing, or a related field will be highly valued.

  • You're an exceptional listener, able to build rapport quickly and genuinely
  • You know how to source leads, qualify prospects, and close deals for long-term retention
  • You have a strong background in sales and service, with a focus on long-term relationships
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset, with a background in team environments 
  • You have meticulous scheduling, tracking, and reporting skills
  • You're self-motivated and driven, with a track record of delivering results

Due to the nature of the role, which includes onsite visits to prospects and existing members, we also require a valid Driver's License and a reliable vehicle.

Background/experience in construction and/or non-profit organizations will be considered an asset.
