Are you efficient and organized, with a keen eye for detail? Help our clinic run effectively so we can provide the support our clinic staff need to deliver the best possible patient care.

What you'll do

  • Arrange meetings, book meeting rooms, notify attendees, and circulate relevant material. Act as a recording secretary by preparing agendas; drafting, typing and distributing meeting minutes. Initiate and take follow-up action as indicated in the minutes.
  • Screen and prioritize incoming requests for the attention of medical team staff by:
  • Determining urgency of incoming calls and taking appropriate action.
  • Relaying patient information to and from doctor's offices and outside hospitals.
  • Obtaining reports by contacting appropriate departments or outside sources.
  • Ensuring timely follow up action is taken by medical staff in response to calls.
  • Coordinating appointments and tests for patients.
  • Accessing patient information system to retrieve patient data.
  • Coordinating clinic and other appointments for medical staff.
  • Initiating responses where appropriate.
  • Coordinate and prepare for clinic conferences, including:
  • Sending out notices.
  • Typing case notes/histories.
  • Co-ordinating patient activity with ACU staff.
  • Photocopying.
  • Prepare on-call lists and weekly staff schedule.

  • What you bring

    • Grade 12 graduation.
    • Graduation from a recognized secretarial program, including a recognized course in medical transcription.
    • Three (3) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

    You have demonstrated ability to:

    • Keyboard 60 wpm.
    • Operate related equipment.
    • Deal with others effectively.
    • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
    • Organize work.
    • Physically carry out the duties of the position.
