What we are looking for?

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Medical Office Administrator (MOA) to join our 18+ member multidisciplinary pediatric team in South Surrey, British Columbia. Building a thriving and engaged team is much like working on a puzzle. Here at Paramount Pediatrics we have been very fortunate to have such a collaborative group of professionals, all working together with the common goal to improve the quality of life for children. However, one piece that is missing is another experienced full-time permanent MOA to complement our current and amazing MOA.  She is fantastic, charismatic, supportive and highly efficient at her role. 

This forward-facing role will provide you with the opportunity to work and support our patients and their families.  In many cases, you will be the first person that our patients will meet.  Therefore, it is imperative that you love working with children, that you are a people person and bring to the table a positive attitude.  It is also essential that you have the desire to work with complex care children including developmental disabilities

Our medical model is different than most clinics, so this role is ideal for someone who is adaptable and enjoys learning new skills.  Perhaps someone who has 2+ years of experience as an MOA at a specialist’s office and is ready for a change?  With the practice thriving and with such a diverse offering of services and care, the ideal candidate will need to be able to adapt, have excellent attention to detail, to multi-task and to work well under pressure.

MOA Responsibilities:

  • Standard duties
    • Greeting guests
    • Answering multi-line switchboard, faxes & emails
    • Booking appointments including rep meetings
    • MSP and private pay billing
    • Conducting children weights & measurements
    • Clinic room set-up
    • Regular supply checks and order remittances to Office Manager
  • Non-standard
    • Coordinating contractor / staff schedules and case conferences into EMR (Accuro)
    • Managing a complex / non-standard EMR
    • Maintaining and updating social media content regularly (Facebook, Instagram, website)

 

  • COVID-19 protocols
    • We go above and beyond to ensure the health and safety of all our patients and staff alike.  You will be assisting in ensuring COVID-19 protocols including extra cleaning of common areas between uses. For safety, we provide hand sanitizer, medical masks & gowns, gloves and in some cases, face shields. Patients and families are required to wear masks while attending their appointment which we provide complimentarily.

 

Education & Experience:

  • MOA certification
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an MOA / Unit Clerk

 

Hours:

  • Current clinic hours:        Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm
  • We want to be there to support our patients even more moving forward, and future hours will be extended to include evenings and weekends. 
  • Candidate must be willing to work flex hours in the future
