Mechanical Project Engineer:  Harvey 2074

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer, for our companies engineering department.

The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing projects for our companies’ equipment which is used in the OSB industry, beginning with the design phase, and through to installation.                                       

Projects will vary in size and scope and may include log handling systems, de-barkers and stranders. 

Requirements:

  • Previous working experience in equipment design, for the sawmill, plywood, or OSB industries is a must.    
  • Must have field experience in sawmill, plywood, or OSB industries.                                                      
  • Applicants should also have a strong background in customer relations, as this will be a key responsibility. 
  • Travel will be expected in this position, but is not a key function of the role.                                                
  • Travel may include trips within North America as well as overseas.

The following design experience is required:

  • Mechanical design of robust industrial machinery 
  • Design of assemblies using hydraulic and pneumatic components
  • Drive design. Chain and belt driven assemblies
  • Basic understanding of electrical design and PLC controls
  • The successful candidate should have, or be eligible for registration as an Applied Science Technologist (ASTTBC), or Professional Engineer (APEGBC). 

This is a fulltime position 
Salary is open depending on experience.
