SolidWorks Mechanical Designer / Drafter: Harvey 2516

- Controls design & engineering for hydraulic, pneumatic, electro-pneumatic, electro-hydraulic and electric based solutions.
General Description:
The Mechanical Designer / Drafter will be responsible for the production of mechanical designs, in accordance with project requirements, alongside the supervision of the Mechanical Engineer, and Engineering manager.
You will have the opportunity to apply experience and specialized engineering principles at the conceptual level.
You need to have 5 years or more of working experience with Solidworks, and you must have a degree from an accredited university.
Responsibilities:
- Produce complete assembly drawing packages using Solidworks
- Use AutoCAD 2D software to design and update hydraulic and electrical drawings
- Participate in assembly of parts on shop floor.
- Provide guidance to shop floor personnel and engineering staff.
- Review design specifications and requirements under direction, develop designs to best support them
- Update engineering manager or mechanical engineer with regular reporting of progress and status
- Exhibit professional, respectful interaction with customers and other team members
- Meet objectives, through project planning and judgment
- Demonstrate ability to accept overall project responsibility
- Generate Bill of Materials (BOMs) for electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic assemblies.
- Other duties may be assigned
Work Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience using Solidworks.
- Strong knowledge of modelling and drafting concepts in Solidworks
- A minimum of one (1) years of experience using AutoCAD
- Ability to create models from drawings and sketches. Ability to produce detailed shop drawings
- Proven ability to work individually and collaboratively in a team environment
- Working in PDM, or similar data management environment is an asset.
- Ability to work within demanding timeframes and develop original, practical solutions to problems
- Excellent communication (oral & written), interpersonal, organization and presentation skills
- Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized
- Understanding and practical application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
This is a fulltime position
Salary is open depending on experience
