Are you looking for an opportunity to stretch your abilities, help grow a company, and take your mechanical engineering skills to the next level?

Zaber Technologies is looking for mechanical engineers to join our product development team. Our focus is on designing and manufacturing the world's best precision positioning equipment. Our customers include many of the top technology companies, research labs, and universities around the world.

As a mechanical design engineer, you will have the opportunity to develop complete products – from the initial needs of a customer through to a final design. The design process will include researching new technologies, building and testing prototypes, and sourcing materials, parts and services. You will have the opportunity to work with and learn from the other engineers on our design team, who collectively have designed and commercialized dozens of innovative products. You will also work closely with our production and marketing teams to build and sell the product. You will also have full access to our well-equipped machine shop which includes a waterjet, laser cutter, 3D printers, CNC and manual mills and lathes, a CMM, a surface grinder, and numerous other power and hand tools.

For this role, we are looking for someone with the following traits:

  • A passion for learning and continuous improvement.
  • A degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
  • Mechanical aptitude. Do you like to build your own tools or devices? Do you troubleshoot and fix problems with your home appliances, car, or other mechanical devices? Are you able to identify root causes and make improvements to prevent failures from recurring?
  • Knowledge of engineering materials, manufacturing processes and components, such as bearings, drive screws and electric motors.
  • A desire to optimize designs for improved customer satisfaction.
  • Team-oriented; motivated by collaboration and contribution to multiple projects.
  • Experience with design for manufacturing an asset.

Zaber's culture is based on a belief that if you build a team of exceptional people and give them the freedom to exercise their talents and creativity to the fullest, great things will happen. People who thrive here are self motivated, take initiative in improving their skills and tend to think and act like entrepreneurs.
