What You’ll Do
  • Identify vendors that fulfill specific category expansion and development needs
  • Build a pipeline of potential vendors which meets targets and looks for innovative ways to scale the business development
  • Evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of partnerships to prioritize opportunities
  • Upon signing of vendor partner, effectively transition the relationship to an account manager

What You’ll Achieve
  • Achieve target new vendor partner relationships, as measured by signed agreements
  • Drive selection growth through building supplier pipelines for marketplace
  • Drive target gross merchandise sales per sku by prioritizing signed partnerships based on expected contribution to the platform
  • Optimize cash flow by maximizing contracts signed with BD proposed payment terms and marketplace revenue share
  • Drive multiple sources of revenue by selling seller services and the full suite of operational services to maximize turns for suppliers consignment inventory

What You’ll Need
  • Business development or sales experience
  • Knowledge and expertise in the Home Improvement Industry.
  • Ability to create and execute on a successful business development strategy.
  • Competence in working independently to structure, negotiate, and close partnerships
  • Comfortable representing BuildDirect in person and over the phone
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; strong bias towards data-based decision making
  • Success getting buy-in through excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Sense of urgency; the ability to make things happen quickly and the flexibility to adapt to new ways of sourcing suppliers to drive scale in developing a marketplace pipeline
  • Self driven with the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Applied creativity and problem solving skills and the ability to challenge preconceived norms to pursue partnerships deals that drive unparalleled customer experience and value.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
