Job Description

The Marketing Coordinator role is best suited for an individual with an interest in marketing, events, and project management. 

With supervision from Manager, Client Services, this position is responsible for providing project management and overall support to: 

1) Corporate Events
2) Internal Central 1 Departments
3) External Credit Union Clients 
4) Marketing & Research Department

Specific Accountabilities:

Event Support
Working closely with the events team, provide ongoing support to Central 1 corporate events by:
  • Coordinating email communications to potential sponsors / exhibitors.
  • Making follow-up phone calls with sponsors / exhibitors.
  • Organizing all details of sponsorships / trade show exhibitors including contracts, promotional materials and other logistics.
  • Researching and sourcing venue options.
  • Communicating details with third-party vendors.
  • Coordinating marketing collateral for events.
  • Assisting with the coordination of various other event details as assigned.

Internal Central 1 Projects
Provide general marketing support to Central 1 departments by:

  • Working closely with various departments to provide marketing materials. Includes working with internal design resources to produce images, portlets, posters, brochures, etc.
Credit Union Client Projects
Provide project and client management services to member credit unions by:
  • Coordinating the MarketShare cooperative campaign program, including:
  • Coordinating orders for MarketShare, including order fulfillment, production, and delivery of printed and electronic campaign materials.
  • Assisting with the coordination of the creation and design of new campaigns, and advertising of the program, and updating of the MarketShare website.
  • Handling other credit union marketing requests, as required.
Department Coordination
Provide project coordination and administration/marketing support by:
  • Managing various internal department projects, as needed
Other marketing and administrative duties as assigned. 


  • Post secondary education specializing in Marketing, Communications, Commerce and/or Business Management .
  • 1 – 2 years experience in a marketing support or coordinator role.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Superb organization skills with high attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills in person and on the phone with a client focus, and possess maturity and professionalism to work with staff at all levels.
  • Previous exposure to the credit union system would be an asset.
Experience with the following programs is preferred:
  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Online event management tools (Cvent or other)
  • Project management tools (Wrike or other)
  • Mac environment
  • Online content management (Wordpress or other)
  • Accounting software (Quickbooks)
