What- the Role:
Reporting directly to the V.P. Development & Chief Marketing Officer, and the V.P. Corporate Communications and Stakeholder Relations, the Marketing & Communications Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting both the Communications and Marketing Department.  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and cross reference invoices and monitor budgets by collecting, comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
  • Support the marketing and communications team with planning, implementing, and monitoring campaigns
  • Assist with the production of marketing and communications materials and collateral
  • Help organize and coordinate marketing, media and stakeholder events, including conferences, webinars, and trade shows
  • Create reports on key metrics in order to monitor campaign efficiency and analyze trends
  • Assist in writing and editing content for different platforms such as social media, website
  • Provide administrative and project support for a variety of marketing and communications programs
  • Publishing content on the company website, quarterly e-newsletter and other platforms
  • Compiling and distributing media releases and kits where required
  • Plan meetings and other events by identifying, assembling and coordinating requirements; establishing contacts, developing schedules and assignments, coordinating mailing lists
  • Approving use of logos and company branded materials
  • Supporting the planning and implementation of the company’s Social Purpose
Who- the Candidate: 
We are seeking a Marketing & Communications Administrative Assistant with a minimum of 2+ years’ experience of relevant administrative experience. You must be proactive, detailed-oriented and organized. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are very important for this role. The ideal candidate will have advanced MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe software experience. 
  • Relevant post-secondary education, ideally in Communications or Marketing from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar administrative role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading skills, are essential
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • A team-orientated work approach, but self-motivated with the ability to work independently when required
  • Must be able to work collaboratively across functions
  • Able to work effectively to meet tight, multiple-project deadlines and demonstrating excellent attention to detail with limited supervision
  • Can demonstrate knowledge of marketing principles
  • Experience using visual communications tools and advanced PowerPoint; design expertise an asset.

  • Comfortable working with Adobe InDesign, Acrobat PRO DC 
  • Experience in a Windows environment with Microsoft Office Suite
Hybrid work model until otherwise specified. Office is located in Burnaby, about 15 minutes’ walk from Gilmore station near the Grand Villa Casino.
