This position provides an opportunity to lead a dedicated staff of Information Technology specialists that take great pride in providing educational technology support to our schools and our staff.


Using your strong, collaborative approach, you are responsible for enterprise architecture and educational technology services.  This includes developing and managing District information systems, infrastructures, applications and web services.  You will work with staff and stakeholders in the planning, development, implementation and support of the information systems needs of the District with a focus on ensuring excellent customer service.

The renowned Lions Gate Bridge, linking West Vancouver to Vancouver, marks the entrance to great shopping, excellent restaurants and an active cultural scene as well as the gateway to some of the most spectacular outdoor adventure areas on the B.C. coast.



Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Computer Sciences or related field with concentration in information systems management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with project management principles and methodologies; capital projects; contract management and negotiations, budget development, business case development, financial controls and analysis and preventative maintenance.
  • A minimum of 3 years successful experience with leading and managing staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate openly and effectively with all stakeholders, trustees, senior staff, system leaders and the general public in a manner that is appropriate for their level of knowledge as it relates to information systems.
  • Strong ability to organize, prioritize multiple demands and effectively manage time in a dynamic environment.
  • Certification in at least two of the following areas: network administration, database administration, system engineering, or Microsoft certified systems engineer.
  • Demonstrated success integrating new applications and methodologies into a large organization, preferably a school district.
  • A minimum of 5 years successful management experience in the following key areas:
    • Experience managing the information systems within a technically and financially complex organization.
    • Experience managing a large-scale network with numerous complex systems within the education sector.
    • A broad knowledge of existing and emerging software technologies and computing architectures.
    • Extensive technical and computer background with a comprehensive knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems.
    • Excellent analytical ability including the ability to seek innovative solutions to problems and exercise independent judgment and action in performance of all duties.
    • Experience managing complex, multi-year projects, including negotiating contracts for software and services.
  • Demonstrated proficiency to work effectively in a team setting, recognizing individual strengths and skills and utilizing such skills to the benefit of the department as a a team environment and proactively problem solve.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to qualify and maintain qualification for Board vehicle insurance coverage.
