The Manager, Financial Compliance will be responsible for various financial reporting tasks including research, development and implementation of new accounting policies; implementation of new financial reporting processes and software; and assistance with accounting and finance acquisition integration. The successful candidate will be responsible, task-oriented and analytical, capable of working with limited supervision and completing objectives in a timely manner. The candidate should be comfortable working on ad-hoc projects in a constantly changing environment and be willing to travel to subsidiary offices as required.

Primary Activities
  • Reviewing, developing, and implementing Corporate accounting policies and processes including project managing the implementation of IFRS 15, IFRS 9 and IFRS 16 for MDA and its subsidiaries;
  • Drafting and/or reviewing accounting position papers for significant revenue contracts and other transactions;
  • Project managing the implementation of Corporate consolidation and performance management software;
  • Assisting with drafting the Management, Discussion & Analysis, financial statement disclosure and other regulatory documents;
  • Providing senior level assistance to internal audit and the external audit process as required;
  • Managing accounting and finance integration activities relating to future acquisitions as applicable;
  • Providing accounting and financial reporting guidance for complex transactions;
  • Other ad-hoc special projects and analyses as directed.
  • Researching emerging regulatory reporting and disclosure topics including benchmarking against other companies;

Candidate Profile
  • CPA/CA designation with 5 years post-qualification experience either in industry or with a mid to large sized accounting firm
  • In-depth IFRS financial reporting experience
  • Experience with implementing financial reporting software
  • Advanced quantitative and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Successful candidate(s) must be able to obtain and hold security clearance at the Reliability level, and pass security assessment including criminal record check.
