One of Vancouver's top Developers is seeking a Manager, Development Accounting to oversee large luxury construction projects from beginning to end, plus manage a team of four development/project accountants and two AP staff. The company is currently involved the development for over 10 projects across North America, some of which are about to change the Vancouver landscape. Their outstanding reputation stems from their work on residential and commercial projects which are consistently built to the highest calibre.

The Manager, Development Accounting will lead by example and motivate the team to achieve departmental goals.


The key accountabilities for the Manager, Development Accounting include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for managing 6 staff that handle all development accounting for the division
  • Mentor, train and develop staff on all internal processes and efficiencies
  • Oversee all functions of department including project draws and financial statements
  • Ensure projects are running on budget and time from a financial perspective
  • Manage project development accounting for more notable, larger projects under development
    • This would include monthly proformas, bank draws, budgeting and forecasting
    • Monthly working papers and all financial reporting
    • Cash flow, adherence to corporate governance and costing pool allocations



The following are considered requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a project accounting role in a construction or development environment
  • Bachelor Degree in Business or Accounting preferred
  • Experience using Timberline software
  • Demonstrated accounting and job costing experience specifically in the real estate or development industries
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite Skills

The following are considered an asset:

  • CPA designation, or pursuing actively
  • Experience using Timberline software is a huge asset
  • Some experience in budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning and analysis



  • Starting salary between $95,000 and $120,000
