Organizational Profile
The North Vancouver Recreation + Culture (NVRC) Commission was established in 1970 as a partnership between the City of North Vancouver and the District of North Vancouver. NVRC provides recreation and arts/cultural services, activities and events on behalf of the City and District. NVRC operates nine community centres, the North Vancouver Tennis Centre and Centennial Theatre, the North Shore’s largest performing arts theatre.

NVRC respectfully acknowledges the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation peoples on whose traditional, unceded territories we operate.

About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Recreation + Culture, the Manager of Arts and Culture (the Manager) plays a central leadership role in shaping and delivering local arts and culture services. This position leads a dynamic portfolio that includes public art initiatives, arts and cultural grant programs, support for community arts organizations, planning and delivery of local events, and the stewardship of arts and culture strategies. The Manager oversees the operations and programming of Centennial Theatre, ensuring it continues to serve as a vibrant, inclusive space for creative expression and community connection. This position is integral to the stewardship of NVRC’s efforts to foster a thriving, inclusive, and accessible arts ecosystem, ensuring alignment with broader civic priorities and community values.
