 Make purchases at the best possible cost and on time:

  • Verify the adequacy of the equipment requisition and ensure that approvals have been obtained according to the established procedure;

  • Research and analyze the availability of requested equipment based on need, price and delivery times from suppliers;

  • Negotiate the price and / or establish an agreement with the supplier;

  • Generate the purchase order in the system and give it to the person concerned;

  • Coordinate the delivery of the material (time, cost of transportation and delivery) with the supplier;

  • Track equipment with the supplier to ensure that delivery times and requested products are being met.

  • Develop and maintain work tools (manuals, parts catalogs) and communication tools for people who need parts;

  • Ensure data integrity in the IT Guide;

  • Produce reports on the status of orders and budgets related to purchases and inventories;

    Manage inventory according to established procedures and for cost management purposes:

  • Ensure the maintenance and accuracy of the physical and electronic inventory;

  • Maintain a minimum inventory based on pre-established quantities;

    Receive and analyze the relevance and scope of all work requests, including the duration of the work, the manpower and material needed / available, cost estimates, etc. :

  • Ensure the availability of parts, tools and equipment needed for the planned work;

  • Complete requisitions for parts or materials purchases;

  • Ensure daily monitoring of the planning and execution of the work with the supervisor and / or maintenance supervisor and update the schedule of work as required;

  • Have work requests approved for external contractors as required and managed.

  • Collect, compile and analyze performance data for maintenance work, equipment breakdown, failure, costs, etc .;

  • Update the preventive maintenance program according to the work carried out and the addition of new equipment;

 Comply with OHS policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and HACCP

 Qualifications and requirements:

  • AEC or DEC in Supply Management or any other training deemed relevant;

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a buyer-planner;

  • English speaking, knowledge of French and Spanish is an asset;

  • Desired experience in an agricultural setting;

  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook);
