The Pacific National Exhibition is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories. This 113 year old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of over $70 million dollars and generates revenue through four activity streams:  the 15 day annual summer Fair and winter Fair which average more than 700,000 people annually, Playland amusement park which welcomes 400,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, and a busy year-round portfolio of events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events.  In total we bring over 2 million people through the site each year. The PNE Gaming Department oversees all gaming functions including PNE Prize Home Lottery, 50/50 Draw, and Wheel of Fortune Games. What will you do this year?

In your role as a Lottery Clerk Helper your primary accountabilities will be to:

  • Assist with answering phones and Input Prize Home entries and results into the computer system.
  • Opening, sorting, and reconciling daily mail orders
  • Completing other ticket fulfillment tasks (separating tickets, stuffing and mailing receipts)
  • Assisting with the in-house printing and controlling of the tickets
  • Operating office equipment, including personal computer, fax machine, photocopier, and postage machine
  • Perform other related duties as required

What else?

  • Successful completion of Grade 12
  • Must be 19 years of age or older by May 1st, 2023.
  • Previous experience working in an office environment is an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and strong typing skills
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to take directions and follow through on work.
  • Ability to deal with confidential matters and use discretion.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and meet multiple service demands.
  • Must be an energetic and self-motivated team player.
  • Candidates must undergo a Criminal Record Check.

Availability requirements:

  • Must be available to work between 9am - 6pm from Monday – Friday.
  • Must be available to work up to 7.5 hours and atleast 5 shifts per week.
  • Must be available to work through Labor Day weekend and from November – January during the PNE Winter Lottery.
  • Candidates must have flexible availability as the call centre is open 7 days a week.
  • Must be willing to work evening and weekend shifts as operationally required.
