Within the context of a Gentle Care Model and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Care Aide works under the functional direction of a Registered Nurse or LPN Team Leader in cooperation with interdisciplinary team members to assist in the delivery of client care. Following established care plans, provides personal care; bathes, grooms, dresses, assists with meals and oral hygiene and performs nursing care duties as applicable. Responds to call bells/alarms. Observes and monitors clients' progress, symptoms and behavioral changes and reports significant observations. Utilizes mechanical aides such as specialty beds, wheelchairs and stretchers to transport clients and provides assistance with lifting and/or transferring of clients following established lifting/safety techniques. Maintains a clean and safe environment for clients and staff. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: 07:00 to 15:00, 15:00 to 23:00, 23:00 to 07:00, rotating

New Wage: As of April 1, 2023, the new wage is: $28.74/hour

The Pines is a one-level facility with two main resident wings centered around common activity, lounge and dining areas. The Pines provides Recreational Therapy Services on a daily basis. Pastoral and Spiritual Services are provided by local clergy and other spiritual care resources. There is a Volunteer Program in place to accompany Residents on social outings, appointments, and assist with feeding. Hairdressing and barber services are available on site for a fee determined by the service provider. The Pines also provides an on-site integrated community adult day program, operating 3 days per week.

Burns Lake has a population of 1,779 (2021) local residents and serves the surrounding areas of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako estimating a population of 7,000. Wilderness and some of BC's largest freshwater lakes where sport fishing is a popular activity for both locals and tourists surround Burns Lake. Qualfications
• Grade 10 plus Graduation from a recognized Resident Care Attendant program, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Registered with the B.C. Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry.
