This firm is looking for a Litigation Assistant to add to their team.

General Accountability

Working alongside a senior assistant to support a busy practice, responsibilities include managing client and file information, maintaining organizational systems to manage electronic files; client contact; drafting and filing documents; billing and administrative tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
Daily correspondence and document preparation
Electronic file preparation and management
Direct client contact
Time entry, billings and client collections
Maintain BF system
Book court dates and communicate with court registries
Organize and assemble application records, books of authorities, appeal records and appeal books
Obtain and index cases from QuickLaw and other sources
Other general and administrative tasks as required


Up to 5 years’ litigation experience
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, and Outlook, and in Adobe Acrobat
Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
Excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation and proofreading skills
Ability to function well under pressure, manage a high volume of work, and multi-task
Ability to take initiative and think ahead
Capable of working in a team and independently
Positive and willing attitude
Keyboarding of 55-60 wpm
Flexibility to perform overtime is required
Experience at various Court levels considered an asset
Preference will be given to candidates who have completed an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program.
