Position SummaryDo you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at North Haida Gwaii Health Centre.
In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Team Leader coordinates Home Support Services by supervising Community Health Workers, overseeing the implementation of client care plans, providing training and evaluation of personal care techniques, and providing advocacy services. In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, performs assessments, plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to clients in a community health setting. Provides nursing procedures within the LPN Standards of Practice as outlined by BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days, 09:00 to 15:30
New Wage: As of April 1, 2023 the new wage is: $33.20 - $45.05/hour
Northern Haida Gwaii Hospital in located in Masset and is a four acute care bed hospital with one palliative care bed, four long term care beds and a four unit assisted living complex. They offer emergency, lab, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy, home and community care services, primary care mental health and substance use, services, chronic disease management, physiotherapy and speech and language therapy. Visiting specialists includes Pediatrics, Orthopaedics, ENT, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Respirology, Rheumatology, Urology and Ophthalmology.
Masset is a small fishing village located on Graham Island with a population of approximately 793 local residents and servicing a surrounding population of 2300. Qualfications•Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant.
•Two (2) years of recent, related experience including one (1) year in a supervisory role; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
•Current valid BC Driver's License.

•Demonstrated knowledge and skills within a specific clinical specialty or patient population dependent on the nature of the caseload (e.g. acute care, gerontology, palliative, etc.).
•Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

•Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients.
•Ability to plan, organize and prioritize; and ability to implement a plan of care.
