This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team responsible for championing compliance with privacy laws across Aritzia's business operations. As Senior Legal Counsel, Privacy, you will work closely with our Technology, Risk, Marketing, Analytics and People & Culture teams to oversee Aritzia's privacy compliance program. As Senior Legal Counsel, Privacy, you will:
  • Participate in the maintenance and enhancement of Aritzia's privacy compliance program
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to privacy and data protection to provide internal guidance and ensure compliance
  • Update, implement and maintain Aritzia's privacy policies & notices
  • Manage & mitigate data transfer risk, including reviewing data transfer mechanisms, negotiating data privacy agreements and advising business partners generally on data privacy issues in third-party agreements
  • Manage data subject requests and supporting business partners with execution
  • Work with cross-functional partners on all aspects of privacy compliance, including data mapping, retention & deletion, risk assessments and training programs.


The Senior Legal Counsel, Privacy has:
  • Proven skills, education, and/or applicable certifications for success in the role, including:
  • Law Degree from a recognized university
  • Licensed to practice law in Canada or the US
  • A deep knowledge of applicable data privacy regulations and standards, including PIPEDA, PIPL, CCPA and GDPR)
  • Privacy certification is an asset
  • A commitment to learn and apply Aritzia's Values, Business and People Leadership principles
  • The ability to collaborate fluently with cross-functional partners and communicate promptly with external counsel and government agencies
  • A commitment to quality and investing in results that add value to the business
