The Burnaby Hospital Renewal Project is a multi-year, multi-phase project with an initial focus on a new inpatient/outpatient tower, and support facilities building expansion and renovation. This project is complex and will be comprised of new construction, demolition, renovations and various upgrades. Upon completion, the Burnaby campus will have two new patient care towers, an expanded emergency department, a new cancer treatment centre, and ultimately increase its acute care beds from 259 to 400

Position Highlights

Are you passionate about leadership, program planning and establishing excellence in the clinical field? If so, bring your operational knowledge of surgical and interventional services to this senior Leader role. As a leader, you will be responsible for the successful implementation of clinical project deliverables which incorporate new service and care delivery models and programs which are well-defined, operationally feasible, appropriately resourced and effectively implemented. As an advocate for clinical operations, you will also liaise with clinical operations professionals in the development of the functional clinical space.

Build on your career experience as you:
    •Ensure project objectives are accomplished through effective clinical project planning, integration, implementation, management, and commissioning transition initiatives. •Lead and plan the process for the development of all clinical and clinical service delivery plans to identify current and future program service requirements. Work closely with clinical and operations teams including physicians, clinical leaders and other health care providers to identify and plan program and service requirements and to review and integrate service delivery models, clinical standards and operational guidelines for each of the assigned clinical services. •Provide direction on the development of integrated project charters, schedules and work plans to ensure successful implementation. •Own the process for developing, confirming and delivering the clinical specifications; ensures integration of clinical planning and decision-making with the equipment and IM/IT planning components of the project. •Negotiate and facilitate consensus with key partners such as Integrated Redevelopment Operations Committee (IROC), FH leadership, Project leaders, contractors, and vendors. •Prepare recommendations on clinical services/program structure and resources required for approval; develops status reports, scope changes or decision requests as required.

We will be looking for you to have the following:
    •Master's degree in a health related discipline. •Ten (10) years recent related experience in dynamically more complex management roles in a clinical related area, •Five (5) years recent operational experience in health care project planning/development with a focus on acute care service planning, integration and/or redesign

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered

This is a regular part time position located at Burnaby Hospital in Burnaby, BC.
