Reporting to the Senior Lead, Operating System Standards, the Lead, Operating System Standards, is responsible for supporting the development and user adoption of the Management Operating System by providing leadership and subject-matter expertise to our operating sites.

This role will require the incumbent to advance the Management Operating System through effective management and inclusion of people, process, and technology with specific focus on the development of Operating System Standards. This will require teamwork and coordination with our business partner consultants and internal Teck departments.

Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Support the development and documentation of a Management Operating System for Teck's Operations, including establishing the framework, principles, and processes
  • Support the MOS Verification and Assessment Processes for operational sites
  • Coach and mentor to the MOS philosophy and approach
  • Collaborate with Implementation and Sustainment teams within the central MOS team to develop robust Standards that can be successfully implemented.
  • Collaborate with the Change Management team on the activities required for the successful publishing and roll out of Standards
  • Support routine MOS reporting and program updates to sites, business unit leadership, and partners outside the Operations Excellence Function.
  • Work with our program administrator consultant to manage and ensure implementation programs at sites are aligned to the MOS Standards.
  • Raise and manage risks to the MOS program

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or other relevant field
  • 10+ years of experience working in the industrial sector
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience developing and/or implementing an operating system at operations
  • Experience with Process Standardization would be an asset
  • Proven ability to influence and empower a diversity of teams and individuals
  • Broad understanding of operational excellence within an industrial setting
  • Demonstrated experience with project management
  • Strong interpersonal skills and personal efficiency; consistent record of influencing
  • Effective communication skills, written and oral
  • Continuous Improvement mentality
  • Demonstrated teammate
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Spanish language skills is an asset

Salary Range: $105,000 - $130,000

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
