Job Description

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Instructor to join our Faculty of Health team.

Job Overview

Reporting to the Divisional Business Manager, this position is responsible for participating in Faculty of Health programs' lab components by assuming responsibility for instruction, student guidance and assessment within a simulated hospital setting.

Education and Experience

• Current practicing registration with BCCNM.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong interpersonal skills and experiences in working with diverse groups.

• Current knowledge of teaching/learning theories.

• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

• Working knowledge of computers and multi-media technologies.

• Working knowledge of low, medium and high-fidelity simulation.

• Minimum three years recent diverse clinical nursing practice.

• Have a good knowledge of WHMIS and other preventative measures required for the safe operation of a nursing lab.

• Demonstrated adherence to the BCCNM Standards of Nursing Practice.

• Fluent in English both written and oral.

• Preference will be given to those candidates with a BPN or BSN undergraduate degree.

As per the KPU-BCGEU Collective Agreement, qualified internal applicants within the BCGEU bargaining unit are given first consideration in filling this position. Salary Information

Salary and wage increments are in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
