Kitchen Helper/Utility Person:
Wash, peel, slice, chop and cut vegetables, fruit, meat, etc. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients. Monitor food quality while preparing food. Clean and sanitize kitchen (and other work area) including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment, Receive, unpack, organize and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas. Check stock; anticipate needs and report it to the person in charge. Verify receipts. Keep records of the quantities of food used. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
Required Skills: Able to stand for long periods of time. Good physical capabilities (strength; capacity of lifting heavy bags, crates, material, etc ). Good sense of organizing and planning. Have basic kitchen skill and understand basic rules of hygiene, sanitation and safety in food/drink processing. Significant use of memory. Punctual. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals Emotional control. Handle pressure.
Education: Completion of high school
Experience: Previous experience in the hospitality industry an asset.
Hours: Full / Part time, Monday to Friday, Weekends.
