Joinery Craftsperson-Benchman

An industry leader in the manufacture of premium wood doors for residential properties both nationally and internationally is looking for a Joinery Craftsperson-Benchman with skills and experience in architectural doors, specialty wood joinery, preparation and interpretation of shop drawings, assembly and veneering.

To be successful in this position you need to be an organized, dependable individual that can read detailed drawings and operate precision production equipment. To maintain established quality standards, you must have an eye for detail and proven math skills. On a daily basis you will be working with drawings and documentation describing customer provided designs that are ornate and intricate. To meet production requirements, you will need to be able to interpret requirements and produce project components to specifications.

This is a craftsman position requiring focused specialty skillsets working with solid wood, wood composites and veneers to make high quality architectural doors. Ideally you have formal training in joinery (preferably through an apprenticeship or post-secondary program) and at least 3 to 5 years of experience using joinery skills in a door manufacturing or millwork/custom woodwork operation. Experience using computer aided drafting software such as AutoCAD, with a good working knowledge of AWI architectural woodworking standards.
