The Analytics organization is striving to enable people anywhere, on any device, to collaborate on analytics, decisions and actions with a world class user experience. To achieve this, the organization has moved from a traditional BI approach into a modernized BI platform. SAP Analytics, including Cloud, offers our customers a simple, yet comprehensive platform for BI, predictive analytics, planning and data warehousing. It will allow organizations to close the gap between transactions, data preparation, analysis, and action.

 

Role Summary

The Customer and Programs Team is responsible for owning all managerial and operational tasks focusing on forming and executing SAP Analytics’ strategy on behalf of employees and customers. This includes driving strategic customer and employee projects, communications, change management, organizational culture, as well as all customer engagements for the president of Analytics. This is done while supporting the growth of Analytics in the regions, sustainable development of talent, and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction in collaboration across sales, product management, development and support. The team is looking for a driven individual with excellent communication skills and a passion to solve problems in a collaborative environment and drive forward communication related activities for Analytics.
Purpose & Objective of Position
The Communications Specialist is responsible for providing top-notch internal communications for the SAP Analytics Customer and Programs Team. The successful candidate must have a depth of experience in communications and a passion for connecting people with information in new and creative ways. He or she is an independent worker, but is effective at collaborating with others and is flexible to take on new and varied tasks.
Expectations & Tasks
  • Gathering content and coordinating demos for intern/external events, collaborating with various development managers and product experts
  • External/Internal product blogging
  • Internal blogging on various topics
  • Able to quickly turn around blogs and FAQs based on internal employee events
  • Video editing
  • Delivery of internal newsletters, community content, graphics
  • Coordinate information gathering and development of collateral as needed from various teams
  • Assistance with all hands preparation as needed
  • Other communication/administration duties/projects as assigned
Skills / Competencies
We are looking for a passionate and energetic professional; someone who is highly collaborative, detail oriented and knows how to get work done as an individual contributor and in a team. Ideal candidates will possess a strong business acumen within the software industry.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to turn things around rapidly 
  • Experienced with graphic design using Photoshop and video editing using Premiere
  • Understands how to communicate across different lines of business and cultural boundaries
  • Able to turn ideas and concepts into visually relevant and effective material
  • Understands and can implement change management/communications initiatives
  • Excellent Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to interact and influence others and welcoming of feedback and suggestions
  • Must be able to keep confidences with private and/or confidential information
  • Organized, detail-oriented and can manage time effectively with top-notch prioritization skills

 

Educational Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in (or pursuit of) Communications, English, Marketing or equivalent
  • Minimum +6-month relevant experience required
  • Prior experience working within the software industry desired
  • Can commit for an 8-month full time internship starting January 2018 in our SAP Vancouver office location
