The IT Administrator will be responsible for helping to manage and support all internal IT systems and services used by the company’s employees. The individual will support employees through various IT issues, while ensuring multiple IT systems are running efficiently.

The IT Administrator will work to provide recommendations and implement new systems and services and continually improve existing ones.

  • Provide IT support and expertise to employees in multiple regions
  • Continuously manage, support and improve the infrastructure and information systems; i.e. WAN, LAN, phone systems, servers (Dell, HP), desktops, laptops, printers etc.
  • Create documentation for our various IT systems, including creating new procedures and updating existing ones
  • Act as a point of escalation for employee desktop support issues
  • Use monitoring tools, and help to implement new ones as needed
  • Identify processes that can be improved and further automated
  • Work with a variety of services and manage their user accounts, including but not limited to Office 365, JIRA, Confluence, Salesforce, Dynamics, Skype for Business, WebEx, in-house applications etc.
  • Work with a variety of hardware including Dell, HP, Apple, and custom builds
  • Deployment of software and hardware
  • Manage backups and test recovery from backups
  • Provide input on IT strategy
  • Generate reports and act on results appropriately
  • Provide company-wide communication on important IT items such as system down, planned maintenance, important new services or features etc.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide IT support for employee meetings and ‘town hall’ quarterly meetings
  • Support the IT Manager in all areas and provide cover for the IT Manager when required
  • Act as a mentor to junior employees, including co-op positions

  • A degree, diploma or certificate in a related field such as Computer Science, Network Administration, or Technical Support
  • Minimum 2 years of desktop support experience with Windows 7/8/10, ideally having worked in a fast-paced software company
  • A minimum of 6 months’ experience working as an IT Administrator or fulfilling admin-level duties, or recent education in and knowledge of IT administration or networking is considered an asset
  • Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA or suitable experience would be considered an asset
  • Mac and Linux experience or knowledge of either would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge in IT security
  • Experience with using and managing an IT ticketing system
  • Experience or good knowledge of computer networking and related aspects such as:
    • LAN and WAN
    • TCP/IP
    • DHCP
    • DNS
    • Server operating systems (2008 R2, 2012 R2)
    • SQL Server (2008 R2, 2012, 2014)
    • IIS
    • Virtualization (HyperV)
    • Firewalls, routers, switches (Dell)
    • Wireless


  • Able to think outside the box when faced with problems that require a creative solution
  • A self-starter who can stay cool under pressure
  • Good skills in prioritizing and managing numerous tasks and projects
  • Must have excellent customer service skills in supporting a wide range of IT issues
  • Strong skills in investigation and analysis, testing and determining, and implementing the best solution
  • A desire to develop skills and experience as an IT Administrator and keep up with industry trends

Working conditions:

  • Must be flexible with working hours in order to support the needs of remote offices, and for key tasks with sensitive deadlines such as new employee setups and employee exits
