Job Summary Support the transformation of government services in this dynamic teamThe Services & Technology Division (S&T) houses Education's service centre for students, the sector and the public, providing information and technology services which enable all stages of the K-12 journey: from the provision of a provincial high speed internet network and Student Information System, through to learning supports, provision of results and transcripts, and access to scholarships and the BC Training and Education Savings Grant. The division also provides a wide range of IT services and systems to support the operations of the Ministry.
MyEducation BC is the Province's comprehensive student record system, which is currently used in all 60 BC school districts, the Yukon, and independent schools across the province. Implemented in 2015, MyEducation BC supports the operational needs of schools and school districts and is an important tool for delivering education services and monitoring student and school performance.
The Product Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the effective ongoing operation and maintenance of MyEducation BC and associated infrastructure. A primary focus of the position is ensuring that MyEducation BC remains available, reliable, and sustainable while meeting evolving stakeholder business requirements.
Job Requirements: - A degree in Information Technology and/or Information Management discipline or a related technical field, comparable diploma, certification(s) and related experience*.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered:
- A degree in Information Technology and/or Information Management or a related technical field, and a minimum four years of experience in a similar role.
- A diploma in Information Technology and/or Information Management or a related technical field, and a minimum five years of experience in a similar role.
- A certification in Information Technology and/or Information Management or a related technical field, and a minimum six years of experience in a similar role.
*Related experience must include at least one or more of the following (preference may be given if you meet more than three):
- At least three years of experience using user-centered design practices in the development of digital products and services.
- Experience using modern agile project management practices, open source development and cloud platforms to design, deliver and continuously improve high quality digital products and services.
- Experience managing complex enterprise IM/IT projects with multiple interdependencies including major business transformations, strategic communications, and the oversight of system integrators.
- Experience leading change management initiatives across a large organization.
- Experience managing all aspects of strategic, high-value government contracts.
- Experience in the procurement of high-value, high-profile contracts.

The Ministry of Education and Child Care has office locations in Victoria and Vancouver. Victoria has two building locations, both with space to accommodate in-office work.
