The Information Systems Branch (ISB) is responsible for providing strategic IM/IT leadership for the Justice and Public Safety Sector, and for the provision of IM/IT services to support our sector program areas and stakeholders. This position is part of the Chief Technology Office (CTO) that is responsible for oversight and maintenance of a stable, secure, and efficient operational environment for our sector clients and their business applications. Key services include information security, application and infrastructure maintenance and support and liaison with central agencies through a Service Manager that supports sector staff and our broader stakeholders.

The Senior Mid-Tier Systems Specialist provides mid-tier analysis, development, administration, operational and user support and standards development of complex multi-tier application server infrastructures and ensures integration with underlying operating systems and hosted applications. The position manages multiple environments, performs migration of application components across those environments and establishes and maintains change control procedures for infrastructure technology upgrades and business application software migrations.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree, diploma, or certification in computer science or a related field; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing Enterprise applications.
  • Experience troubleshooting, designing, and/or implementing software/hardware and/or management solutions.
  • Experience working with applications running on the Windows platform and/or enterprise database solutions such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL or Postgres.

Preference may be given to applicants with:
  • Experience with web servers such as IIS, apache or tomcat; reporting tools such as SQL Server Report Services; content management systems such as SharePoint or Dynamics CRM; or monitoring such as SPLUNK or SiteScope.
