As a SharePoint - Intermediate Technical Analyst within the NCCS team the position will support, maintain and manage infrastructure technology products and related services, develop and maintain computer systems infrastructure technology policies, procedures and standards and provide advice and counsel to branch and ministry staff, clients and vendors.This position may be required to work on call and/or overtime.

NCCS (Network, Communications, and Collaboration Services) is a branch within the OCIO (Office of the Chief Information Officer) providing innovative and cost affordable solutions to Ministries and program areas within government. NCCS provides a wide range of services such Microsoft SharePoint, Exchange, Skype for Business, enterprise voice, conferencing, and data network services across the province of BC. We have always provided high quality collaboration and communications solutions while maintaining a high standard of customer service. NCCS employees make the quality of their customer service a top priority; NCCS offers its services to Ministries, Pharmacies, K-12 Schools and Post-Secondary Institutions in British Columbia. NCCS delivers enterprise voice services to 35,000 clients supporting VoIP, Unified Communications, contact center, and IVR services. Conferencing services include video, Telepresence, Web, and audio conferencing. Messaging services deliver Microsoft Exchange,Skype for Businessand SharePoint. Data network for the BC Provincial Government, called SPAN/BC (Shared Provincial Access Network), connects client sites across the province to Data Centres and the Internet.

Organizes, and manages projects concerned with the implementation of new infrastructures and services that will support the business applications and data resources of the Ministry or Government, and devises ways to efficiently share common services and technology components in a secure environment.The successful candidate will possess a keen interest for problem solving, creative thinking, being an active member of a self motivated and enthusiastic team providing critical skills to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of mission critical IT infrastructure and data assets.)

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree, diploma, certification or equivalent in the computer science field, or minimum 2 years of a combination of education, training and experience. Preference may be given to applicants with 3 or more years of experience.
  • Experience with IIS, SQL 2013/2016/2019, SharePoint 2013/2016/Online and/or Windows Server 2010 or later. Preference may be given to applicants with 1 or more years work experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting, testing, implementing software and/or hardware solutions with Microsoft infrastructure technology. Preference may be given to applicants with 2 or more years working experience.
  • Experience in investigating and researching troubleshooting problems and providing solutions.

  • This position may be required to work on call and/or overtime.
