Job Summary An excellent opportunity to apply your technical expertiseThe Health Sector Information, Analysis and Reporting Division (HSIAR) sets the foundation for the delivery of high-quality health sector information, analytics and reporting. The Division leads key information management functions including data stewardship, governance, security, access, analytics and reporting, quality assurance, performance measurement and evaluations functions. HSIAR sets out to exercise effective governance over data resources, while enabling timely and secure access to data, supporting an integrated, modernized model of information sharing across the health sector. The Division leads the overarching provincial analytic strategy and approach, and performs comprehensive, integrated analysis of health sector performance to ensure a consistent and timely approach to health system measurement utilizing a client centred approach.
Data Management and Stewardship (DMS) provides leadership in the use of, and access to, health data to support evidence-informed decisions, policy, analysis and research directed to achieving improvements in health outcomes. The branch is responsible for the development and implementation of a strategic vision for health secondary data management and data security, ensuring that ministry data assets are appropriately managed and effectively leveraged.
The
ETL Specialist provides technical expertise and advice in the design and development of new and/or enhanced custom applications, leads the technical implementation of custom applications, conducts technical quality assurance audits / post implementation reviews, designs, codes, tests and implements application fixes, and updates, documents and supports infrastructure related tools and utilities.
Job Requirements: - Degreein Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related discipline and a minimum of 2 years recent related experience; OR
- Diploma or Certificate in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of recent related experience may be considered; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Recent Related Experience Must Include All of the Following:
- Experience in ETL development and operation support.
- Experience in Data Warehouse security.
- Experience in multidimensional data models.
- Experience in data warehouse design methodologies and architecture.
- Experience in development with relational database systems, Structured Query Language, relational data modeling and data management principles, structured analysis and design, and documentation of business requirements.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Familiarity (experience) with emerging technologies such as Cloud Computing.
