We are looking for a dynamic and passionate individual to join our Charitable Giving Team as an International Grants Specialist for Lush North America. Our team is responsible for donating the sales of our Charity Pot Body lotion to grassroots organization in North America and Internationally. Our three main impact areas of funding are in animal and human rights as well as environmental justice. Ideally, this role would be located in Vancouver or Toronto but we are open to remote applicants across US and Canada.

Reporting to the Charitable Giving Manager, the International Grants Specialist undertakes the following RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and identify international grassroots groups and projects that match our funding guidelines
  • Manage, organize and maintain applications, contacts and financial accountability
  • Maintain and monitor impact metrics and accountability reports for groups and projects in grant management software
  • Maintain exceptional working relationships with previous and current partners
  • Work alongside the Charitable Giving Team to support each other and the program success
  • Working with the Brand Communications team to share the stories or our international partners across our internal and external communication channels
  • Represent Lush at conferences, events, and where Lush is advocating for issues
  • Support employee engagement in collaboration with grantees, partners & Lush teams
  • Contribute to Lush's ethics strategy initiatives and company goals
  • Attend weekly, monthly meetings and annual team retreat
  • Capacity and network building with other funding organizations
  • Play active role as contributor or lead on projects that add to the success of the charitable giving program including, but not restricted to, raising the program profile, driving sales, training, recognition, and reporting
  • Travel may consist of the following activities but not limited to: Retail Managers Meetings in North America and/or UK. potential Employee Engagement Volunteer Trip (NA and INTL), attending conferences, meetings or other agreed upon activities, potential project site visits and discovery trips



  • You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:

    Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in an international charitable giving grantmaking position at an organization, foundation, not-for-profit or social enterprise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
  • Experience working in the Latin American, Asian or African context.
  • Strong working knowledge, understanding and commitment to global and economic justice, social change, animal rights and environmental conservation.
  • Previous experience with funding or participating in direct action campaigns and /or community driven initiatives.
  • An independent and confident self-starter that is good at managing time, relationships and multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and networking skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to engage with a wide range of audiences.
  • Can give clear and accurate instructions, presentations, and feedback.
  • Effective computer skills (Microsoft Office) and Google platforms.
  • Ability to think and act in a strategic manner.
  • Ability to travel within Canada, the United States and Internationally, however based in North America.

  • Preferred:

  • Previous experience using grants management software preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills in Spanish
