The Opportunity:

Faced with constant growth in the renewable energy market in Canada, WSP is currently seeking Engineers in Geotechnical -Dams in Canada. The successful candidate will be involved with the design team to support the execution of ongoing projects in Canada. The position is offered at our offices in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, Quebec City or elsewhere in Canada.

The Candidate(s) will mainly work in Hydro & Dams Markets, within multidisciplinary teams specialized in geotechnical, structural, hydraulics, electrical and mechanical, who work in constant and close collaboration.

A day in the life:

• Perform the design of earthfill dams, dykes and cofferdam (new or rehabilitation works) and dam stabilization works;
• Perform inspection of earthfill works;
• Perform Dam Safety Reviews of earthfill dams including inspection and monitoring of geotechnical instruments and data analysis/interpretation;
• Prepare drawings and specifications
• Ensure technical support during construction;
• Provide guidance to engineers, technicians, and drafting team;
• Ensure quality control of the various deliverables by participating in multidisciplinary coordination meetings and design reviews, amongst other.
• Support business development activities .
• Participate in the growth of the business unit.
• Other related tasks that could enhance the execution of projects and technical development of the business unit

We'd love to hear from you if you have ...

• Bachelors or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or equivalent program (master degree in geotechnical or dam engineering an asset);
• Proven experience in dam engineering (geotechnical);
• Proven experience in earthfill dam inspection and Dam Safety Review;
• Knowledge in legislation and guidelines related to dam safety;
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng designation) in a Canadian Province.
• Multi-disciplinary versatility, leadership skills, dynamic, team spirited, quality oriented and technical excellence are essential.
• Strong communication skills.
