Teck is looking for an Instrument Mechanic Apprentice to join our team at our Trail Operations, one of the world's largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes. Reporting to a Group Leader, we are looking for an Instrument Mechanic Apprentice who is eager to learn and develop their skillset. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a journeyperson who will instruct you, and give you tasks to complete each day that center around your development needs. This will include inspecting, maintaining, repairing of industrial equipment.

This role is based in the welcoming community of Trail, situated in the beautiful West Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia. Here you will find outdoor adventure at your fingertips! Whether it's biking and skiing, or the laid-back atmosphere of fishing and hiking, there is something for everyone.

Please note this role does require the successful candidate to live within 100KM of Trail. British, Columbia. Relocation assistance will be offered however there is no camp or company housing.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Install, calibrate, repair and maintain field instrumentation and final control elements
  • Perform in a team-oriented environment of maintenance peers

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 (please submit a copy of certificate to application)
  • Pre-apprentice as Instrument Mechanic is required at a minimum
  • Knowledge of Foxboro and ABB Systems would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Modicon PLC's and Wonderware HMI's considered an asset
  • WHIMIS certification
  • Experience in an industrial environment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of and ability to safely us basic hand tools
  • Stronginterpersonal and communication skills
